The sewer retribution charge covers the cost of treating wastewater from your property and maintaining the sewer infrastructure that serves your area. Even if you don't produce much wastewater, the system must be maintained for all users.
Properties with approved septic systems that aren't connected to municipal sewers are exempt from sewer retribution charges. You must provide proof of septic system approval to qualify for exemption.
If you believe your sewer charges are incorrect, you may submit a written complaint to the Revenue Office with supporting documentation. Disputes will be investigated within 14 working days.
Unpaid sewer retribution charges accumulate penalties and may result in water service disconnection or legal action for recovery of outstanding amounts.
